We are very proud to announce that GB Electronics (UK) Ltd have successfully been awarded an SBRI Healthcare development contract for the development of a cost‐effective thermal perception screening and monitoring device for early detection and long‐term management of Diabetes Peripheral Neuropathy to reduce the impact on healthcare services and patients’ quality of life. Established on 21st March 1988, GB Electronics (UK) Ltd are proud to be celebrating their 25th anniversary.
Geoff Bullen, founder of GBE, started the company off with little more than an overdraft and a wealth of industry contracts from years of being in the electronics industry. GBE’s first order on the books was received a mere three days after starting the business and the rest, as they say, is history! Starting off solely as a supplier of electronic components, 25 years later GBE now design, manufacture, and supply electronics for a wide range of industries across the globe, and has also recently reached a landmark moment of receiving ISO13485:2012 accreditation for developing medical devices – more news to follow soon.
Sadly Geoff passed away in December 2012, but we are all tremendously proud of what he, his family, and close-knit staff have achieved over the past 25 years. We now look forward to another successful 25 years in honour of Geoff.
GBE and University of Brighton (UoB) have recently received an “Outstanding” grading, the highest achievable grade, after completing a 3-year Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) partially funded by the Technology Strategy Board aimed at embedding medical device development capabilities and expertise within the GBE organisation. The partnership has proven to be hugely successful with many collaborative projects developing between the two parties beyond the initial scope of the KTP.
GBE are proud to announce that a new solid state hard drive (SSHD) configuration is now available on top end Fujitsu CELSIUS W420 i7 workstations.
Increasing customer requirements for a powerful, fast and responsive Imaging PC system lead us to the combining of lightning fast solid state drives with the proven power of the Intel i7 processor. Combined with 8gb of DDR3 memory and an optimised installation of Windows 7 Pro, this specification has lead to a massive performance increase during our clients imaging tests.
GB Electronics (UK) Ltd are pleased to announce the launch of Starman – their in-house designed multiplexing communications unit that enables a USB device (such as a PDA, smartphone, etc) to connect to, interface with and control peripheral devices. Starman’s common usage is in the field of in-car telematics to provide communications paths to applications running on a PDA. However, the design is adaptable for other markets where control of peripheral devices is critical to the system; this includes domestic, industrial, scientific and healthcare applications.
GB Electronics (UK) Ltd is proud to announce that it is now part of the Canon Partner Program. This enables GBE to offer full technical support on Canon’s range of High Speed Document scanners. This is exciting news as we currently support over 100 NHS sites throughout the UK using Neoteric Technology’s AutoCard™ Laboratory Form Scanning and Management System. GBE’s value-added service includes supply of new and refurbished units plus a full maintenance/repair and loan scanner solution.
